VOLUNTEERS WELCOME!
Volunteers are the heartbeat of our Camp Community! That’s why at each event you volunteer at you will be greeted and hosted by a volunteer coordinator to help answer any questions and to acclimate you to your role.
Without the investment from volunteers, we could not create spaces of inclusion, grace, and belonging within our community. Our hope is that you will be transformed by this community and join us in creating more spaces that reflect the essence of Camp Sunshine in our world.
We have plenty of volunteer opportunities with varying time commitments with us at camp in the summer, at one of our year-round events, or at our fundraising events!

Any person that will be directly volunteering with campers must agree to a background check (embedded into our sign up forms).

All volunteers must fill out a volunteer waiver onsite of the event at which you are volunteering.

Volunteers under the age of 16 should be accompanied by an adult
VOLUNTEER AT CAMP
Come for a few hours in the morning, afternoon or evening to help support different areas of camp. From supporting counselors, to helping with activities, to covering cabins in the evening…every role is important!

Opening Day Volunteers: The first morning of camp is filled with celebrating and welcoming every camper that arrives and providing themed activities. Come help out with one of the activities or be part of the welcoming team!

Sunshine Subs: Come for a morning to be paired with a camper to give a counselor time to rest, shower or take a break. Subs are vital to counselors feeling supported!

Cabin Coverage: Calling all night owls! Come support cabins as campers settle in for the night to sleep and as counselors have their daily meeting.

Counselor Appreciation Volunteers: Each evening time is set aside for our overnight volunteers to enjoy an extra hearty treat and receive ongoing training and support. Volunteers are needed to either supply the meal (for 100 people) and/or serve counselors from 8-9:30pm.

Creative Expressions or Recreation Support: Support our leadership team in running the many activities at camp.

Licensed Medical Professionals: Whether it’s overseeing the check-in of camper medications, administering medications or generally caring for the needs of the camp community, the med team is a vital component of camp! Limited medical opportunities are available!

ASL interpreter: American Sign Language is used at all of our lessons, singing and group activities as well as to interact with our campers who are fluent in sign. They also assist in any non-verbal communication modes as needed.

Certified Lifeguards: Needed at the pool and beach fronts for afternoon swim time at Camp Blodgett only.
Our year round programming goes beyond just summer camp. Each year Camp Sunshine hosts 4-5 events outside of camp. Each event is directed by staff but supported in different ways by volunteers. Volunteering at an event is a great way to engage and connect with the camp community outside of our camp season.
